Glutamine

Glutamine is an amino acid. It supplies our body cells with fast energy – but leaves the blood sugar level untouched. The brain can also convert it directly into energy, it promotes concentration. It is not for nothing that ten times more glutamine is found in the brain than in the rest of the body.

For example, the body builds the relaxing messenger GABA from the amino acid. If glutamine is missing, it cannot build GABA. And: Glutamine is real power food for the intestinal mucosa. The amino acid thus helps to repair the damaged digestive tract of alcoholics more quickly, so that all the nutrients from the food can be absorbed again all the more quickly.
