Arginine treatment for alcoholic hepatitis

The arginine deficiency in alcoholics not only lowers the concentration of nitric oxide in the body, thereby increasing blood pressure. Nitric oxide also plays an important role in protecting the chemically very active liver cells. If sufficient nitric oxide is present, this lowers alcohol-induced inflammation of the liver.
